EAGLE (3 K)    Using photos and postcards from the pre–WW II and post–WW II eras, as well as numerous shots taken between 1939 and 1945, this slideshow presentation depicts structures and scenes from the Obersalzburg, Adolf Hitler's alpine "compound" high above Berchtesgaden at the foot of the Kehlstein mountain (site of the infamous "Eagle's Nest") in southeastern Bavaria. Included are images of Hitler's house, the "Berghof," the homes of other Nazi leaders, the underground tunnel system still in situ there, the SS barracks, and the teahouse built for him by Martin Bormann (the Kehlsteinhaus, otherwise known as the Eagle's Nest).
