| Thanks to the generous contributions of Walter Elkins, we are able to reproduce a vintage pamphlet distributed to GIs in 1945 to familiarize them with the city of Reims, France. At the time, the city was the headquarters of the Assembly Area Command, which coordinated the staging activities for the U. S. Army in the ETO. Scattered throughout the Reims area were the 18 staging camps known as the "City Camps," where new and refitted American units were "staged" prior to being returned to the United States or being reassigned to the Pacific Theater.
