SCR-268

S(ignal) C(orps) R(adio) - 268 radar set, used by the 225th and other AAA battalions during WW II. The 268 was a VHF gun-laying radar that was supplanted near war's end by the SCR-584. The photo belows shows a 268 unit deployed on Guadalcanal by the 3rd Defense Battalion; note the tell-tale "bedspring antenna" that characterized the unit.
