LOADING GUNS (10 K)
An aircraft plant worker at the Curtiss-Wright Aircraft plant in Buffalo, NY is pictured installing .30-caliber machine guns on a very early variation of the P-40 Warhawk. Later, the Warhawk's armament was changed to much heavier .50-caliber guns. This photo first appeared in the 15 September 1941 issue of LIFE magazine.
