"Deluxe" Foxhole in Hedgerow Country
One of the battalion's medics poses beside a typical "foxhole deluxe"
somewhere in the Norman countryside. A little bit of Yankee ingenuity
went a long way in constructing personal shelters from anything a GI
could find laying around. This particular one even has a door and an
awning (photo reproduced from Unit History pamphlet, 1945).
