Into the Mouth of An LST
GIs headed back to England board an LST through the open bow doors, Omaha Beach, Summer 1944. It was common for LST drivers to beach the ships and wait for low tide to allow men and equipment to be loaded directly over the sands, especially after the destruction of the Omaha Mulberry harbor during the storm of 19-22 June.
