Old Glory Over Tokyo ...
   Lt. Bud Stapleton of the U. S. 11th Airborne Division (which had landed at Atsugi Airdrome, near Tokyo, on August 30) raises the first American flag over Tokyo on the roof of the Nippon News Building, 3 September 1945, the day after the official ceremony at which Japan formally surrendered.
