The World War II Photo of the Week for 8 October 2001

Fill 'Er Up ... It's September 4, 1944, and a long line of trucks is ready to load full jerry cans at a fuel point of the famed "Red Ball Express." The location is Cherbourg, the only harbor available to the Allies at the time, and the unit hard at work is the 378th Quartermaster Trucking Company, 3rd Group. Photo from the Webmaster's collection.
