Top, Joe Tierney pictured at C Battery bivouac area, Burgaw, North Carolina, August 1943. The battalion was training in low-altitude tracking of targets and learning how to establish a radar-searchlight grid at this time. Bottom, Joe (left) with an unidentified officer, Camp Davis, December 1943 (anyone who can ID the officer on the right should contact the Webmaster). Considering it was December, and the 225th left for the ETO aboard the Queen Mary two days before Christmas, this photo was undoubtedly a "we're moving out" shot.
