A PROMINENT and important activity located here at Camp Davis — and one which came into being here — is the Antiaircraft Artillery School. Commanded by Brig. Gen. Bryan L. Milburn, the Antiaircraft Artillery School has trained thousands of officers and enlisted men for key positions in battle units all over the world.

POSITIONS ON THE 40s (48K)

Briefly, the mission of the Antiaircraft Artillery School is, and has been since March 1942:
  1.  To conduct advanced and "refresher" courses for officers of all grades.
  2.  To train enlisted specialists in the operation and maintenance of all types of antiaircraft artillery equipment.
  3. To prepare material for use in training antiaircraft artillery troops and for maintaining them at an advanced level of efficiency. This material includes film strips, training films, manuals and other printed matter all prepared by a group of highly qualified specialists operating under a diversified and well-equipped Department of Training Publications.
  4. Formerly to train selected enlisted men to be second lieutenants of Antiaircraft Artillery.
  5. To assist the Antiaircraft Artillery Board in developing and research toward greater perfection of antiaircraft artillery weapons and equipment and the evolution of new types of materiel.
