Made up of veterans of WW II campaigns in Albania, Russia, and
North Africa, an eight-man squad of Italy's elite Gli Arditi ("The
Daring") paratrooper police pose with portable belt-feed machine
guns strapped to their backs on pack frames. When deployed,
the machine guns are dropped by separate parachutes, then
mounted up as shown for transport into action.
