Ole Blood n' Guts
Takes A Cigar Break
Acme News photo, dated July 22, 1943

General George S. Patton, Jr. smokes a cigar outside a temporary command post in Gela, Sicily. Patton appears to be waiting on Colonel Darby, as one of his 1st Ranger Battalion vehicles is clearly identifiable at the right side of the photograph. A number of GIs in the area directly behind him are seemingly fairly casual, also waiting.
