This B-17 Flying Fortress heavy bomber has just been hit by flak after having dropped its bombs on Naples, Italy. A portion of the plane's wing has been blown off, and concussion from the flak burst has turned the plane completely over. Despite the serious damage, the pilot managed to level the plane off after a 1,500-foot loss in altitude, and nearby crews reported seeing five parachutes deploy.
