Plotting Intercepts
German Press photo, dated February 26, 1944

Luftwaffe signals intelligence staffers, women in this case, are shown translating enemy radio traffic and directing German night fighters to intercept potential targets in the skies over Germany. The Luftwaffe soldier behind them is holding a slide rule device — either a Fernsprechschlüssel or Schlüsselschieber — which was used for coding tactical radio messages to the night fighters.
