Bob's Hope
uncredited photo, dated July 1944

A 64th Bomb Group Consolidated B-24 Liberator nick-named "Bob's Hope" is pictured with its famous namesake on Owi Island in the Pacific. In the photo, taken sometime in the period July 13-15, 1944, Bob Hope is seen at the left, doing a little soft shoe dance to the accompaniment of a guitar. The other members of his entourage, which was USO Troupe No. 130 are, standing, Hope and Tony Romano (with guitar). Sitting, left to right, are Patty Thomas (one of the dancers), Francis Langford (singer), Barnie Dean (gag writer), and — sporting his trademark moustache — comedian Jerry Colonna.
