A bevy of British "Wrens" (members of the Women's Royal Naval Service, or WRNS) assist in loading torpedoes aboard a British submarine. During WW II the WRNS reached a peak of 74,620 members in 1944. Between 1939 and 1945, 102 Wrens were killed and 22 were wounded.
