Two French "Blue Devils"support an attack in a snow-filled mountain pass in southern France. Nicknamed "les Diables Bleus," the Chasseurs Alpins were France's elite alpine troops, and were on a par with the German Gebirgsjäger and the U.S.-Canadian 1st Special Service Force.
