Troops of the Boston Harbor Antiaircraft Coast Artillery engage a Vultee L-1A "Vigilant" (a Stinson Model 74 in a military configuration) liaison plane being used as a "target" for a machine-gun crew manning an M1917 .30-caliber water-cooled gun. The units were engaged in the 2nd Army War Games some six months before Pearl Harbor.
