| Deadly Assembly Line |
Official Acme News photo, dated October 23, 1940
|
Junkers Ju-87 Stuka dive bombers are shown on a factory floor before final assembly. In the foreground, the hulls of the fuselage and the JuMo engines can be seen set out in neat rows. More complete planes can be seen in the background. The Stuka was the infamous plane which provided very effective "airborne artillery" support to the rapidly advancing columns of German tanks in the early Blitzkrieg campaigns in Poland, France, and Russia.
