First Step to Berlin ...

It's July 1944 and Omaha Beach has been transformed into a busy harbor. This was the first view of France for many an American GI entering combat in the Summer of '44. Note that the ramp of LST 502 is down (and a sailor is standing on it) as the ship glides toward the sand to unload.
