Deadly Sands ...
   A low-level, pre–D-Day photo reconnaissance sortie over the Normandy beaches at low tide reveals many of the mined obstacles the Nazis hoped would halt Allied landing craft. This particular stretch of beach is not identified in the original U.S. Army caption.
