Views from Around Town
| Delaware Street looking east. On the left is visible the sign for Burns Clothing Co., and, on the right, the Royal Restaurant. |
| Delaware Street looking west. A painted postcard from a considerably earlier time than the companion view above. |
| Lawrence P. Belmont describes this view: "This is the picture of the old rickety bridge over East Brook that went up to Park Street. About 15 yards up on the
left there was a cabin where the Boy Scouts held their meetings. East Street starts
on the left of the picture. It was a very hilly dirt road with a lot of curves; it was short,
though, and it was only about 30 yards to Park Street. Two cars couldn't pass each other on it; at any rate, very few people had cars in those days." |
| East Brook at East Street. A photograph of the same bridge depicted in the painted postcard above. East Brook flows past the Townsend Street School and the Catholic Church before emptying out in the Delaware River. |
